September: warm days, softer evenings

September still feels like summer in Faro, with highs around 26°C and evenings near 19°C. The sea and beaches around Ilha de Faro are still inviting, while the milder feel makes walking through the Old Town and exploring the Ria Formosa more comfortable than in August.

Events and crowds

Festival F, Faro's music and arts festival, usually takes place in September. It fills streets and venues in the old town, so you may find more people around its event nights.

If you hate crowds, September is a better bet than August. The school-summer rush has eased, and accommodation often costs less than in peak summer, though the city and beaches can still be busy. It's a good middle ground if you want warm beach days without the height of the season.
