July feels damp

July is mild by Coimbatore standards, but it's rarely dry. Highs reach 28°C, and the air feels sticky, with rain on most days and little sunshine. Showers can interrupt a walk or make the roads slow, so keep city sightseeing flexible.

You can still visit the Gass Forest Museum or browse the shops around Town Hall between showers. For a longer outing, the Siruvani road is lovely when clouds lift, but don't count on clear views or easy driving in heavy rain. Skip plans that depend on a dry day outdoors.

Temples and quieter streets

July falls in the Tamil month of Aadi, when many local temples hold special prayers and observances, especially on Fridays. Perur Pateeswarar Temple is a good place to see this side of local life. Dates vary by year, so ask locally before making a special trip.
