October weather in Bazhong

October feels mild, but often grey and damp. Days reach about 22°C, while evenings cool to around 13°C. Rain falls on many days, and sunshine is limited, so keep your plans flexible.

It's a good month for exploring Bazhong's historic streets and museums between showers. You can also visit Guangwu Mountain for autumn scenery, though wet paths and low cloud can spoil longer hikes. Don't count on clear views every day; November is drier and sunnier.

Holidays and crowds

China's National Day holiday begins on October 1 and brings a week of domestic travel. Bazhong's sights and transport can be busier then, and hotel prices may rise. Outside that holiday, October is usually calmer than the main holiday period. November is quieter still, while March and April are also popular months to visit.

If you hate crowds, avoid the National Day week and enjoy Bazhong later in the month. The Mid-Autumn Festival sometimes falls in October, but its date changes each year.

Making the most of your visit

Travelling with kids? Choose shorter outings that leave room for a rainy afternoon, rather than committing to a full day on mountain trails. Bazhong's city sights are easier to adapt around showers than a long trip into the hills.

For Guangwu Mountain, ask locally about the route and transport from Bazhong before setting out. The scenic area is in Nanjiang County, not in the city, so allow time for the journey. Cloud can also reduce views, even when rain has stopped. Check conditions before choosing a longer hike, and keep a city visit as your backup.
