Bandung Weather in March

March: frequent rain

March feels warm, damp and cloudy in Bandung. Daytime highs reach 26°C, while nights stay near 20°C. Rain is recorded on all 30 days, and the air feels very humid. You'll often get a brief dry spell rather than a clear day.

Plan indoor stops around showers: browse the shops on Jalan Riau or visit the Geological Museum. For outdoor time, try Taman Hutan Raya Ir. H. Djuanda when the paths aren't slick. Skip long hikes if heavy rain has made the trails muddy, and don't count on wide views from the hills.

City anniversaries

Bandung marks its city anniversary on March 25. Around this time, local events may bring extra activity to central areas. March 24 also commemorates Bandung Lautan Api, the 1946 event remembered with ceremonies and local observances.

If you're visiting around these dates, expect some streets or public spaces to be busier than usual. Indonesia's Ramadan and Eid dates shift each year, so they sometimes fall in March. If they do, opening hours and traffic can change.

March is generally a quieter, lower-season month than August, Bandung's best month overall. You may find better value than in the drier travel season, but rain can disrupt a day out. Weekends still draw visitors from Jakarta, especially around factory outlets and Lembang.
