Yichun Weather in October

October weather

October is one of Yichun's best months for getting outside. Days reach about 25°C, while evenings cool to around 15°C. Rain is less frequent than in September, so you'll have better odds of clear time for walks and sightseeing. Still, showers can interrupt a day, and cloud can soften views from the hills.

Mingyueshan is a good choice for a hike or cable-car ride, and the cooler weather makes exploring its paths easier than in summer. Don't count on a full beach-style day of sunshine; Yichun is better suited to mountain scenery and a soak in Wentang's hot springs.

Holidays and crowds

China's National Day holiday, also called Golden Week, falls at the start of October. Popular sights and trains can get crowded, and hotel prices often rise during the holiday. Outside that stretch, October is calmer and usually better value than peak holiday dates.

If you hate crowds, visit Mingyueshan after Golden Week, when the trails are more relaxed. October is still a popular time to travel, though, as it's one of Yichun's best months overall.

Make the most of your visit

The mild weather works well for a day at Mingyueshan followed by a warm soak in Wentang. Keep a little flexibility in your plans: rain can make mountain paths slippery, so save an indoor visit or hot-spring stop for a wet spell.

Travelling with kids? Choose the cable car at Mingyueshan if a long uphill walk sounds like too much. Check local transport times before heading to the scenic area, so you're not left rushing back after your visit.
