Yaren Weather in May

May: warm and damp

May feels warm from morning to night, with sticky air and frequent rain. Showers can interrupt a walk around Yaren's Parliament House or the nearby government buildings, but cloudy spells still leave room for sightseeing. The sea stays warm, though wet weather can make a beach day less reliable.

You'll get more from short outings than from a long day outdoors. Keep time for a shower or two, and avoid relying on clear skies for a full day at Anibare Bay. May is wetter than June, but drier than April.

Events and local life

There's no major national holiday in Nauru in May. Yaren's government offices and the airport give the district a working-day feel, rather than a festival atmosphere. If you're hoping for a big public event, May isn't the month to count on one.

If you hate crowds, May may suit you: it's outside the more comfortable travel period of August and October to November.
