When to go to Quezon City: a seasonal guide

February and March: the best of a humid bunch

Quezon City is warm and sticky all year, and our comfort score rates every month Poor. February and March come out on top. They're the least wet of the cooler months, with more sun and fewer rainy days than the months around them.

February still has some showers, but afternoons are manageable at 29°C. March is a step hotter. It suits you if you want to walk around the Quezon Memorial Circle or browse the cafés and bars of Maginhawa Street and Tomas Morato. Midday is the time to duck into a mall or museum.

February also brings the Philippine Aero-Cultural... no events we're sure of, so plan around the weather instead. One safe bet is the Christmas season. It starts early here, and it's a real draw for visitors.

April and May: dry-ish, then hot and wet

April is the hottest month, with highs of 33°C and the most sun. Rain is lighter, but the heat sits on you by midday. May is just as hot, and the rain returns, with showers on 24 days. If you're travelling with kids, plan indoor stops like the Quezon City Experience museum near the Circle, and go out in the evening.

April is also when Holy Week usually falls, or close to it. Much of Metro Manila empties out as people head to their home provinces. Roads are quiet, and many shops close for a few days, especially Maundy Thursday and Good Friday. If you like calm streets, it's a good time. If you want everything open, check first.

June to December: the rainy stretch

From June the rain settles in. July, September and October each get around 337 mm or more, and December is the wettest at 415 mm. Skies stay grey, with under 2 hours of sun a day in July and August. Typhoons can hit from July to November, and flooded roads and cancelled flights are real risks. Build slack into your plans.

The upside is lower demand and cooler nights. December is the exception, because Filipino Christmas is a big deal. Expect lit-up streets, Simbang Gabi (dawn masses with rice cakes sold outside) and heavy traffic. Do you want local atmosphere more than dry weather? Then it's worth the rain.

January: cooler, but still damp

January has the lowest highs of the year at 28°C, tied with December. It's also wet, with 176 mm and just 2.8 hours of sun a day. Pack a rain jacket and you'll be fine.
