May feels like summer

May is still spring on the calendar, but Kuwait City feels properly hot. Afternoons can be hard work outdoors, and rain is almost absent. April is milder; June gets hotter still. Long sunny days suit a relaxed evening stroll along the Gulf, but save outdoor sightseeing for after the worst heat has passed.

The Kuwait Towers are a good fit: enjoy the air-conditioned viewing area, then take in the sea from above. Avoid long walks around the city in the afternoon, especially if you're hoping to explore several sights on foot.

Events and holidays

There isn't a major fixed annual festival in Kuwait City in May. Ramadan and Eid dates follow the lunar calendar, so they can sometimes fall in May, but their timing changes each year. If Ramadan does overlap your visit, daytime dining options may be limited, while evenings can feel livelier around places such as Souq Al-Mubarakiya.
