Fushun Weather in October

October's cool, clear days

October feels crisp in Fushun, with afternoons reaching 16°C and nights dropping to 3°C. It's much cooler than September, so long walks around the city feel more comfortable. Rain is limited to six days on average, leaving plenty of time for outdoor visits.

The Leifeng Memorial Hall and Fushun's old coal-mining area work well in this weather. You can also enjoy autumn colour around Guaipo Scenic Area. Skip long outdoor plans on rainy days, and don't count on warm evenings for a late stroll.

National Day crowds

China's National Day holiday begins on October 1 and brings a surge of domestic travel. Expect more visitors at popular sights during the holiday period, and higher demand for transport and rooms. Outside that busy spell, Fushun is generally quieter than during the holiday, and prices may be easier on your budget.

October isn't a major festival month in Fushun beyond the national holiday. The city's May and September are among its best months overall, so October can feel less sought-after once the holiday ends.

A local stop

For a practical October outing, visit Guaipo, known for its odd slope where cars seem to roll uphill. The open site can feel chilly after sunset, so go while the afternoon still feels mild. Pair it with a warm bowl of Fushun malatang, a local spicy soup, back in town.

Families may find the cooler days easier for walking than September's warmer weather, but young children might feel the evening chill.
