For a practical local tip, ask whether a boat trip to the Conservation Area is running before setting off from Fongafale. With frequent rain and cloud, conditions can change, and the trip depends on the water being suitable. If the weather turns, try pulaka instead: this local root crop is often served with coconut cream.
