Visiting Faridabad in February
February weather
February is one of the most comfortable months in Faridabad, and the numbers back that up. Afternoons usually reach about 26°C and nights drop to around 10°C. You'll get plenty of sun and only a little rain, so a walk around Badkhal Lake or a browse through Surajkund's craft stalls won't leave you soaked or sweltering. The heat that comes later in the year hasn't arrived yet.
Evenings are cool, so a stroll through the market can be nicer than sitting outside late. March is much hotter in the afternoons, and January is cooler, which makes February a sweet spot between the two. Your days are great for sightseeing, though midday can still be strong, so if you burn easily, save long outdoor plans for the morning or late afternoon.
Mela and local days
The Surajkund International Crafts Mela is the month's big draw. Craft workers, food stalls and performances fill the Surajkund grounds, and the crowds are thickest on weekends. Dates shift from year to year, so check before you book.
Basant Panchami, a spring festival, sometimes falls in February, but its date changes too. Don't plan your whole trip around it. The mela is the more dependable reason to visit. If you enjoy browsing handmade goods and trying regional food, the crowds are part of the fun.
Crowds and costs
February falls within Faridabad's November-to-February peak season, so expect company. Surajkund gets packed during the mela, but outside the event the city is usually quieter than the fairgrounds suggest. Hotel rates may hold firm compared with the hotter months, when fewer people visit.
For the mela, take the metro to Badarpur Border and finish the trip by local transport. That keeps you clear of the worst event-day traffic near the entrance. When hunger hits between craft displays, try a stall serving Haryana-style bajra roti.
