November feels wet

Cali stays warm in November, but the air feels sticky and the sky often stays grey. Rain falls on many days, so showers can interrupt plans rather than neatly ending by lunchtime. The hills around the city can be muddy, making long walks in Farallones de Cali less appealing.

You can still explore central Cali between showers. Visit the Museo La Tertulia, then find a salsa class or club in San Antonio when the rain sets in. Keep outdoor plans flexible, and don't count on clear views from the hills.

Events and local plans

The Festival Internacional de Cine de Cali is usually held in November, with screenings around the city. It's a good fit for a rainy evening, though dates and venues can change each year. Colombia also observes All Saints' Day around the start of the month; holiday timing can shift.

If you hate crowds, November is calmer than late December, when the Feria de Cali brings big crowds for salsa, music and parades. November's quieter feel can also mean better value for stays than the festival period, though prices vary.

Make the rain work

With little sunshine and frequent cloud, don't build your visit around long, sunny days outdoors. Save a trip to the Cristo Rey viewpoint for a brighter break in the weather. For a city day, take the MIO cable car from Cañaveralejo up to Siloé; the ride gives you a look at hillside neighbourhoods without a long climb.

Travelling with kids? Pair a short stroll through the historic San Antonio area with an indoor stop, rather than committing to a long walk. A warm bowl of sancocho, a local soup, is a welcome end to a damp day.
