Banjul Weather in June

June: warm and turning wet

June feels warm and muggy in Banjul, with sticky air and frequent clouds. Rain falls on several days, but showers don't usually take over the whole visit. It's a clear change from dry May, and July brings much heavier rain.

You can still explore Albert Market or visit Arch 22 between showers. A cloudy spell can make a walk around the city more comfortable than under strong sun. Save long, exposed outings for a dry spell, and don't count on a full beach day at nearby Cape Point. Wet paths and sudden showers can also make a long trip outside town less appealing.

June doesn't have a major annual festival that reliably takes place in Banjul. Muslim holidays such as Eid al-Adha move through the calendar, so one may fall in June in some years. If it does, expect changed opening hours and a more local, family-focused feel.
