April feels mild

Athens in April has warm afternoons and cool evenings. The average high reaches 20°C, while nights fall to 11°C. You'll get plenty of sunshine, though brief rain is still possible.

It's a good month for walking around the Acropolis, exploring Anafiotika's narrow lanes, or taking a longer café stop in Monastiraki. The climb up Philopappos Hill is more comfortable than it can be in summer. Save strenuous walks for the cooler parts of the day, and don't count on a full beach holiday: April is better for city sights than swimming.

Easter can change the pace
