June weather on the coast

June feels hot and mostly dry in Agadir. Days reach 33°C, while evenings cool to around 20°C. The sun stays out for long stretches, and rain is rare.

The beach works well for a swim or a slow afternoon by the Atlantic. The Kasbah hill is better for views in the cooler part of the day; its exposed climb can feel harsh under the midday sun. June 21 is Fête de la Musique, a music celebration that can bring performances to Moroccan cities, including Agadir. The programme changes each year, so don't assume there'll be a large event. Eid al-Adha can also fall in June, depending on the lunar calendar. It's an important family holiday, and some shops and services may close or change hours.

Families with young children may find the cooler stretch by Agadir Beach easier than a full day of sightseeing.

Crowds and practical tips

June is summer, but it's usually quieter than Agadir's popular winter sun season, from November to April. You may find better value than in those busier months, though prices can rise as school holidays begin. The souk and beachfront still draw visitors, but you're less likely to face winter's peak-season feel.

For a break from the heat, head to the Agadir Oufella cable car and Kasbah viewpoint later in the day. The ride avoids the steep uphill walk, and the view over the bay is especially pleasant as the light softens. Check opening times locally, as they can change.
