October in Warsaw feels properly autumnal. Afternoons can be mild, but mornings and evenings turn chilly. Rain falls on some days, and grey skies are common, so keep indoor stops in mind.

It's a good month for the Old Town, the Royal Castle and the museums along Krakowskie Przedmieście. A damp day suits the POLIN Museum or the National Museum better than a long stroll beside the Vistula. You can still walk Łazienki Park, but muddy paths and fading light may cut short a leisurely wander.
