March feels like early spring

Saitama's March days are cool and gradually soften, while mornings and evenings can still feel chilly. The average high is 13°C, but lows reach 2°C. March is usually calmer than the peak cherry-blossom period in April, but crowds can rise during school holidays and around the blossoms. Prices aren't as low as in the quieter winter months, especially for stays near Omiya Station. For a steadier city break, visit earlier in the month and leave blossom viewing flexible.

At Omiya Park, use Kita-Omiya Station on the Tobu Urban Park Line. It's close to the park entrance and can save you a busy walk from Omiya Station. Afterward, try eel, a local speciality in nearby Urawa.
