December feels warm and humid in Jamestown, with highs and lows around 20°C. Rain is scarce, but cloud often softens the sunshine. Getting around in December

December is among the best months overall to visit Saint Helena, but that doesn't mean every service runs as usual over Christmas. Air seats and accommodation are limited, and holiday demand can make them harder to find than in quieter months. Don't count on a last-minute bargain.

Travelling with kids? The Jamestown waterfront is an easier outing than Jacob's Ladder, which has a steep climb and lots of steps. For a practical local tip, ask about opening times before heading to the St Helena Museum on the waterfront; holiday hours may affect your visit.
