Mild days, cool evenings

February is one of Orlando's more comfortable months. Afternoons reach about 24°C, but evenings can cool to around 12°C. You can spend a full day at Walt Disney World or wander around Lake Eola without the heavy summer heat.

Rain is usually manageable, though showers can interrupt an outdoor plan. Keep indoor rides or the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex for a wet spell. Pool time may feel chilly, especially later in the day, so don't build your whole visit around swimming.

Events and holiday crowds

Universal Mardi Gras usually brings parades, live music and food stalls to Universal Studios Florida during this period. The exact dates change each year, so check the event calendar before choosing your park days. Presidents Day can also bring a busy long weekend, and some schools have winter breaks.

Families who enjoy theme parks will find plenty to do, but expect queues to rise around holidays and weekends. Outside those periods, February is often calmer than spring break and summer. Prices can still be high during popular holiday dates, while quieter weekdays may cost less.

Plan for changing weather

With about seven rainy days in the month, a shower is possible, but it needn't spoil your plans. Choose outdoor attractions such as Gatorland on a dry day, and save the shops and restaurants at Disney Springs for a damp afternoon. Evenings can be lovely for a stroll around Winter Park's brick-lined Park Avenue.

For Universal Mardi Gras, use the resort's free water taxi between CityWalk and the hotels if you're staying nearby. It saves a walk after the parade and gives you an easy way back when the evening turns cool.
