February is winter low season, so Naples is generally calmer and better value than in spring, summer or around Christmas. You'll have more room in the historic centre, while popular indoor sights still draw visitors on rainy days. It's a quieter choice than the best-weather months of April to June and September to October.

On a wet afternoon, take the Metro Line 1 to Toledo station, then head to the nearby Galleria Umberto I for shelter and a look at its grand glass dome. Afterward, warm up with a sfogliatella from a pastry shop nearby.
