Events, crowds and costs

Rockoff, a music festival held in Mariehamn in July, brings extra energy and visitors to the town centre. It's a lively time to catch a concert, but the festival can make nearby streets and places to stay busier.

July is peak summer season, so expect more visitors and higher accommodation prices than in quieter months. If you hate crowds, try June or August instead. June is cooler, while August tends to bring more rain.
