Valentine's Day brings couples to the Strip, with special dinners and busy hotel restaurants. Lunar New Year sometimes falls in February, and celebrations may appear around Chinatown, west of the Strip. The date changes each year, so the festivities don't always land in this month.

Presidents' Day weekend can draw families and raise demand for rooms. Outside holiday weekends, February is generally less crowded than spring break and major summer weekends. It's also part of Las Vegas's better-value winter stretch, though big conventions or events can change the picture.

The Strip looks compact on a map, but its long blocks make walking between casinos tiring. For a simple ride along Las Vegas Boulevard, use the Deuce bus; it stops near many hotels and sights. Bring a warm layer for waiting outdoors, then duck into a casino if the night air turns sharp.

For a quieter outdoor break, head to the Bellagio Conservatory between Strip walks. Its seasonal display is indoors, free to enter, and a welcome change when the evening chill sets in.
