October: warm and very wet

October feels warm, sticky and often cloudy in Kumasi. Rain is recorded on all 30 days, with about 260 mm across the month. Showers can interrupt walks and make muddy paths less appealing, so keep outdoor plans flexible.

You can still visit Manhyia Palace Museum or browse Kejetia Market between showers. For longer outdoor visits, the Kumasi Fort and Military Museum is another good option. Don't count on a dry afternoon for a trip to Lake Bosomtwe.

October has no major fixed public holiday in Ghana. Akwasidae, an Ashanti royal celebration, follows a traditional calendar, so it can fall in different months. If one takes place during your visit, ask locally about ceremonies at Manhyia Palace; access and viewing may vary.

If you hate crowds, Kejetia can feel easier to browse than in the busy December season, but rain can make its open areas messy. Take a taxi to Manhyia Palace rather than relying on a long walk through wet streets, and check whether the museum is open before setting out.
