November feels warm and humid, with a high of 26°C and rain on many days. Showers can interrupt beach time, but they rarely need to end your day. Try the Bishop Museum or ʻIolani Palace when skies turn grey, then head back to Waikiki if the sun returns.

You'll still have time for the beach, a swim or a walk along the Ala Wai Canal. Diamond Head is a good morning outing, but take care on the trail after rain. It can get slippery. November has less sun than October, so don't count on an unbroken stretch of beach weather.

Holidays and crowds

Thanksgiving brings a busy travel period across the United States, and Honolulu can feel fuller around the holiday. Outside that peak, November is generally quieter than the winter holiday season, with prices often easier on your budget than in December.

Honolulu City Lights usually opens in late November at Honolulu Hale, with lights and holiday displays downtown. It's a fun evening stop, especially if you're already visiting Chinatown. Families may enjoy the festive displays, while visitors who dislike crowds can go on a weekday.

A local tip

For a rainy spell, take TheBus to Honolulu Hale for City Lights rather than trying to find parking downtown. You can also pair the visit with dinner in Chinatown, where you'll find plenty of local favourites.

Beach lovers can still enjoy Waikiki, but keep a flexible plan for passing showers. The weather is warm enough for outdoor time, though November isn't among Honolulu's best months overall. If you're hoping for long, sunny beach days, January and April to September are stronger choices.
