Fiestas de Octubre

The Fiestas de Octubre bring concerts, rides and food stalls to the Guadalajara area. The fair is held at the Auditorio Benito Juárez in Zapopan, and its programme often stretches into November. Expect lively evenings there, especially around popular shows.

October is also the start of the season for Día de Muertos preparations, though the main celebrations fall in November. You may spot decorations and displays around the city, but don't expect the holiday itself to be in full swing yet.

Crowds and getting around

October is a strong month for a visit, and it's among Guadalajara's best months overall. It's usually calmer than winter's popular travel period, with prices often gentler than around Christmas and New Year. The fair can bring local crowds, though, so the area around its venue gets busier on event nights.
