If you hate crowds, February is quieter than the popular spring and autumn months. It's winter, so visitor demand is generally lower too; you may find prices softer than in peak season, though rates vary.

In the Old City, rain can leave the stone lanes slippery. Take care around Bab Touma and the narrow routes towards the Umayyad Mosque. If you're heading to the mosque, wear shoes you can remove easily, as visitors take them off before entering.
