Visiting Da Nang in November
November weather
November is warm, damp and often grey in Da Nang, and it's one of the weaker months to visit. Rain falls on many days, so you'll probably find heavy showers getting in the way of beach time and outdoor plans. The sea at My Khe can be rough, which makes swimming and boat trips hard to count on. If you want better weather nearby, Sanya, Haikou and Ha Long all offer drier conditions this month.
You can still enjoy the city between showers. Visit the Museum of Cham Sculpture or stop for a meal of mì Quảng, the local noodle dish. Marble Mountains are worth the climb when the rain lets up, but the steps get slippery, so take care. Keep your plans flexible rather than pinning your hopes on a full beach day.
Events and local days
November 20 is Vietnamese Teachers' Day. Schools and families mark it with visits and small celebrations, but it isn't a major citywide festival for visitors. Da Nang's big summer fireworks festival doesn't take place in November, so don't expect a packed calendar of headline shows.
If you're travelling with children, a rainy afternoon at the Museum of Cham Sculpture is a much easier plan than trying to keep them entertained on a washed-out beach.
Crowds and practical tips
November is quieter than the dry-season months, especially February and March, and visitor demand is generally lower. That can mean a calmer city to explore, though the weather, not the crowds, will probably shape most of your plans. Compared with October, November is less rainy, but it's still a very wet month. December is drier again, yet February and March remain the best months to visit.
If rain sets in, head to the covered market aisles at Han Market for a dry wander, then grab a bowl of mì Quảng nearby. Before you climb Marble Mountains, check the steps after a downpour, because slick stone makes the way up much less pleasant.
