July is warm and sticky, with highs around 28°C and little change overnight. Rain falls on many days, often in passing showers, and cloud can interrupt the sunshine. June is almost as wet, while August is wetter, so July sits in the middle of the rainy season.

You can still enjoy Castries Market, the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and a meal of green fig and saltfish. Keep beach time flexible, and don't count on a dry day for a long hike. Heavy showers can make trails muddy, and damp afternoons aren't ideal for sightseeing on foot.

Carnival and local life
