Families may enjoy Zoolights, but the cold can make a long outdoor visit tiring for younger children. Calgary is quieter overall than during the July Stampede, and December is outside the main summer travel season. Prices can be easier on the wallet than in peak summer, though holiday dates may be busier and cost more.

Getting around in winter
