Best Time to Visit Majuro
Marshall Islands · weather by month, temperature and rainfall
If you want the most pleasant weather in Majuro, plan your trip for January and February. Temperatures barely change through the year: highs stay between 28°C and 29°C, so rainfall matters far more than heat when choosing when to go. The rainy season runs over October and November; November is the wettest month with about 289 mm (11.4 in) of rain. November is the least comfortable month, mainly because of the rain.
When to go to Majuro: a seasonal guide
January to March: the drier stretch
Majuro is almost on the equator's doorstep, so temperature barely moves all year. It's 28°C or 29°C by day and night, every month. The real change is rain. January and February are the best months here, though "dry" is relative. Expect showers on most days, usually quick ones, with sun in between.
This is the best window for a first trip. Seas are calmer for diving and snorkelling in the lagoon, and the trade winds keep the sticky afternoons bearable. Along the main road, you can walk or ride between Delap, Uliga and Rita without being soaked for long. March is wetter, but still gentler than what comes later.
April to September: warm, wet and quiet
From April the rain gets heavier and falls on almost every day. Skies stay grey for long spells. Don't plan a trip around guaranteed beach sun. If you don't mind a soggy afternoon, you'll find the island calm and the lagoon beaches nearly empty.
Majuro has no real tourist high season, so crowds aren't a worry in any month. Flights and rooms are limited, though, and visitors are mostly divers, fishing groups, officials and people visiting family. August is the sunniest month, though only slightly, and it's still wet. It suits anglers and anyone happy to take the weather as it comes.
October to December: the wettest months
October and November are the rainy season, and November is the wettest month in our data. Rain is heavy, skies are dark, and sun is at its lowest. If you want to see the lagoon at its best, skip these months. Boat trips and outer-island day plans can be cancelled at short notice.
December eases off a little. It's a good pick if you want to be here for the holidays. Christmas is a big family and church occasion in the Marshall Islands, with singing and shared food. Constitution Day on 1 May and Manit Day in late September are also local celebrations, though dates can shift, so ask locally.
Travelling with kids? Go in January or February, when the sea is friendlier. Hoping for diving at Majuro's wrecks and reefs? Aim for the same months. If you just want a quiet, cheap-feeling island stay and don't mind rain, almost any other month works.
